NEWPORT BEACH, California (Oct. 19, 2016) — A 92-year-old Newport Beach man riding a bicycle suffered major injuries Monday night when he was struck by a driver at Seventh Street and Balboa Boulevard, according to the Orange County Register.
The collision took place about 8:40 p.m. between the bicyclist and the driver of a white Mazda hatchback car. Police believe the car was heading west on Balboa when the two collided.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured man to Orange County Global Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
Police are investigating the crash to determine who was at fault. The driver remained at the scene and was questioned by police, but there were no citations or arrests.
