Car Hits Bike Rider in Old Town Victorville
VICTORVILLE, Calif. (Oct. 3, 2024) — A bicyclist was critically injured Tuesday night in a crash involving a vehicle at D Street and Fourth Street in Old Town Victorville.
The traffic accident occurred at 8:20 p.m. on Oct. 1st, across from the Transportation Center, according to Victor Valley News Group.
The Victorville Police Department responded to the scene to help the injured cyclist.
A driver in a blue Honda struck the victim who landed on the vehicle’s hood and windshield. The rider’s turquoise bicycle wound up in the eastbound lanes with its back tire mangled.
Meanwhile, paramedics responded and rushed the injured bicyclist by ground ambulance to Victor Valley Global Medical Center. Next, the injured person was airlifted by a Mercy Air helicopter to a trauma center out of town.
Investigators questioned the driver of the Honda at the scene and a tow truck removed the damaged vehicle from the roadway.
The Victorville Police Department is heading up the investigation into the crash.
