ALHAMBRA (April 11, 2016)- According to KTLA 5 News, a bicyclist identified as Eduardo Castillo suffered fatal injuries Sunday morning while riding in the carpool lane of the eastbound Interstate 10 freeway.
At 4:30 a.m., the 40-year-old man had been riding his bike approaching Garfield Avenue before being struck by a transit bus.
The collision sent the rider over the center divider and onto some train tracks, where he did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Per KTLA 5 News, it remains unclear whether or not the bus driver saw the man and why the man was riding on the freeway in the first place.
