COVINA, California (July 14, 2016) — A bicyclist suffered serious injuries when he or she was struck by a car and pinned underneath following an accident at East Badillo Street at North Irwindale Avenue, near the border with Baldwin Park, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place about 6:32 a.m. this morning. The Los Angeles County Fire Department and West Covina Police Department responded to the scene to help the injured person. The report stated the “vehicle was on top of the pedestrian.” The vehicle was only described as black and was eventually removed.
The injured bicycle rider was treated at the scene and then airlifted to County USC Medical Center for treatment of serious undisclosed injuries.
Police are investigating the crash to determine liability.
