MALIBU, California (July 20, 2016) — A bicyclist suffered major injuries Wednesday afternoon when he or she was struck by a vehicle on Pacific Coast Highway near the entrance to the Thornhill Broome Beach Campground, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The rider was reportedly lying on the ground on the right hand shoulder after the 12:15 p.m. crash and a State Parks vehicle was blocking the northbound No. 2 lane. Paramedics were called and transported the injured rider to the Ventura County Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
The crash is under investigation by police to determine liability.
