Woman, 30, Victim in North Coast Highway 101 Hit-and-Run
ENCINITAS (August 13, 2017) – An alleged hit-and-run crash seriously injured a bicyclist in the area of North Coast Highway 101 and Basil Street late Saturday night, according to San Diego Union-Tribune.
The accident took place about 10:05 p.m.
As per the article, sheriff’s department said a 30-year-old woman was riding a bicycle south on North Coast Highway 101 when she was struck by a vehicle. The victim was reportedly traveling on the sharrow line, which is a designated lane on the highway.

The cyclist was immediately transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla with severe head trauma. Her name and condition at this time remained unknown.
Meanwhile, deputies affirmed that the driver involved continued and left the scene. The suspect car was described as a silver or white 1993 to 2000 Mercedes C series with apparent front-end damage.
