Bicyclist Injured in Car Accident at Colima Road in Rowland Heights

SUV Hits Bicyclist at Colima Road and Batson Avenue
ROWLAND HEIGHTS, Calif. (July 27, 2026) – An SUV struck a bicyclist on Sunday in Rowland Heights at the intersection of Colima Road and Batson Avenue, leaving the rider with a major injury.
The collision, which occurred on July 26th about 10:45 p.m., is under investigation to determine fault, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Injured Bicyclist at Colima Road is Hospitalized
Authorities say the rider was knocked down by the SUV and was found by arriving emergency crews awake and breathing.
Paramedics responded and rushed the injured cyclist to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center for treatment of a major injury to one of their legs. The age and gender of the injured person were not released.
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV stopped and cooperated with the investigation. Police say this was the second cycling accident in the San Gabriel Valley that day with the first roughly six hours earlier between a pickup truck and a bicyclist.
