Guerneville Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident
The rider suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled west. The motorist allegedly went around and headed back toward Guerneville.
The suspect vehicle, described as being all black with blacked out windows and taillights, was found abandoned in Rio Nido. Anyone with information is asked to call the CHP at 707-588-1400.
We offer our prayers and most heartfelt condolences to the friends and family members of the victim during such a difficult time.
Motorists are obliged to remain at the scene after being involved in a traffic accident. In this case, it is evident that the driver involved will be held fully responsible for causing the incident that led to the death of the innocent man. Regardless of their reasons, leaving the area following a crash is a serious crime and punishable by law, especially if the collision tragically killed another individual. We are hopeful that the authorities will soon be able to track down the suspect and justice will then be served.
In such cases where negligence or wrongdoing may have been a factor, families of deceased victims can file a wrongful death lawsuit against the at-fault parties seeking compensation for damages including medical expenses, funeral costs, lost future income and loss of love and companionship.
