Bicyclist Fatally Struck by Vehicle
CHICO (October 3, 2018)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a deadly collision left a bicyclist fatally injured this morning at a Chico intersection at precisely 9:27 a.m.
Authorities were informed of the incident which occurred at the intersection of Nord Avenue (Highway 32) and East Avenue.
Chico police officials were also dispatched to the scene as the victim was initially supposed to be transported to Enloe Medical Center, however, based on the report, the victim sadly did not survive and was pronounced dead a short while later.
It remains unclear whether the cyclist died on the way to the hospital or at Enloe Medical Center.
At this time, the victim has not been identified by name as authorities remained present at the collision site as of 11:00 a.m.
No details have been provided in regards to the cause or what exactly transpired as the investigation is currently ongoing.
