Cyclist Struck, Killed on State Route 1 Between Faria Beach and Solimar

VENTURA, Calif., (June 12, 2026) — A bicyclist was killed in a car accident in Ventura Thursday night on Pacific Coast Highway between Faria Beach and Solimar, just north of Emma Wood State Beach North Campground Road.

The tragic incident was reported on June 11th at approximately 7:08 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision took place near Rincon, just north of Emma Wood, where the vehicle reportedly struck the cyclist. Authorities have shut down sections of the Pacific Coast Highway at Faria and Solimar for an extended period as part of the investigation and cleanup efforts.

Emergency response teams were dispatched promptly, with units arriving at the scene by 7:35 p.m. Despite these efforts, the cyclist succumbed to their injuries at the crash site. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed pending family notification.

The accident remains under investigation by local law enforcement, who are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the collision. Police are urging any witnesses to come forward with information that may assist in the investigation.
