SAN DIEGO COUNTY, California (August 24, 2017) — Two men were seriously injured Thursday morning when their bicycle and motorcycle collided on Mira Mesa Boulevard at Parkdale Avenue in Mira Mesa, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The crash was reported about 5:37 a.m. The 28-year-old man riding a bicycle was heading east on Mira Mesa Boulevard. The rider reportedly went through a red light and began to cross in a north-west direction. He allegedly crossed into the path of a 56-year-old motorcyclist who was going westbound in the No. 1 lane.
Paramedics responded to help the two men who were both suffering from serious life-threatening injuries.

This collision remains under investigation by the San Diego Police Department. Authorities will piece together what led to the crash and assign liability. The preliminary report indicates that bicyclist may be at fault for the collision. Typically, one or both parties involved will be held liable for the collision.
