MOORPARK, California (December 9, 2016) – A bicyclist was seriously injured in an alleged hit-and-run crash near Tierra Rejada Road and Harvester Street on Friday morning, according to Ventura County Star.
The accident was reported at 9:47 a.m.
As per the article,Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said a female bicyclist riding in the marked bicycle lane was struck by a car which for an unknown reason moved from the far-right lane to the victim’s path.
The 62-year-old Moorpark woman was left with major injuries as the driver involve dfled the scene. She was transported by ground ambulance to Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks for treatment.
Her name and condition at this time remained unknown.
Meanwhile, deputies affirmed that the suspect vehicle, a green 1999 Toyota Camry, was later found with windshield damage. The motorist, 33-year-old Moorpark resident Jasmine Duran, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and felony hit-and-run and was booked into county jail with bail set at $50,000.
The incident is still under investigation.
