Woman, 20, Hurt in Vista Bicycle Accident
VISTA, Calif. (Dec. 4, 2018) — A bicyclist was seriously hurt Monday when she was struck by a pickup truck as she road her bike on Sycamore Avenue in North County.
The collision was reported about 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 3, 2018. The 20-year-old woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the collision in the 700 block of Sycamore Avenue near the Shadowridge Plaza Shopping Center, the San Diego County sheriff’s department said.
Paramedics transported the young woman to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido. She suffered several broken bones, but her injuries were survivable.
The driver in the pickup truck stopped and remained at the scene.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash and liability. At this time, it is not believed that drugs and or alcohol were factors.
