Pedestrian Injured in Big Bear Lake Hit-and-Run at Highway 18 and Summit Boulevard
BIG BEAR LAKE, CA (July 11, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash injured a pedestrian at Highway 18 and Summit Boulevard in Big Bear Lake.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred late Sunday night. Officers reported the incident at about 10:54 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Big Bear Lake. The driver hit the person at the intersection of Highway 18 and Summit Boulevard.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the victim left wounded in the roadway as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the crash. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help to the victim and fled the area. They are still searching for the suspect.
Officers forced Highway 18 at Summit Boulevard to shut down following the hit-and-run accident. The Big Bear Lake collision is still under investigation.
