Big Rig Loaded with Fish Hits Sedan, Catches Fire in Lincoln Heights
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 25, 2022) — A big rig truck hauling fish collided with a car on the Interstate 5 Freeway, just south of the 110 Freeway in the Lincoln Heights area of Los Angeles.
Both the low rider car and the big rig loaded with 21,000 pounds of fish caught on fire during the collision, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred about 12:52 a.m. on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway just south of the Arroyo Seco (110) Parkway.

Witnesses told the CHP the big rig hit a blue low-rider causing it to blow a tire, spin out and hit the center divider and both vehicles caught fire.
It’s unknown at this time if the occupants exited the burning vehicles prior to the fire, but there are no fatalities reported.
Meanwhile, the CHP issued a SigAlert at 1:23 a.m. and closed down northbound Nos. 1, 2 and 3 lanes.
They canceled the SigAlert about 3:40 a.m.
