Major Injury Collision on Cabrillo Highway Thursday
Big Sur, CA (September 30, 2021) – A motorcycle rider suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on State Route 1, also known as Cabrillo Highway, Thursday afternoon.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a motorcyclist collided with a white Subaru in the southbound side of the highway. Authorities said the force from the impact caused to rider to veer off the traffic lanes. Subsequently, the motorcyclist hit the guardrail along the freeway near Gamboa Point Beach.

Shortly after 4:50 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the location and found the motorcyclist lying on the roadway. Responding paramedics treated the rider for major injuries. At this time, it remained unclear whether the victim was released at the scene or transferred to a hospital.
Detectives stayed at the crash site the whole after to investigate the precise cause of the motorcyclist accident in Big Sur.
