SALINAS (March 27, 2017)- According to KION News, Billy Henry, 38, has been identified as the man fatally struck by a hit-and-run drunk driver Thursday, March 23rd.
Henry was walking Thursday morning on a sidewalk when a drunk driver veered up onto a curb and struck the 38-year-old man.
Henry, a little league baseball coach and a father of two, tragically did not survive the impact of the collision and was pronounced at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene but was later located and detained.
Per KION News, the local community joined together on Saturday to remember Henry as he was known as a family man who loved baseball.
