Billy Siegel and Joe Avila Killed in Madera Crash at Avenue 9 and Road 30
MADERA (July 29, 2018) – Two of the five people killed after a traffic accident in the area of Avenue 9 and Road 30 Saturday have been identified, according to The Fresno Bee and ABC 30 News.
Two victims were named as 49-year-old former Lemoore mayor Billy Siegel and Joe Avila.
As per the reports, California Highway Patrol said a Dodge Charger allegedly ran a stop sign and slammed into a Chevrolet truck on Avenue 9 at Road 30.
The impact of the crash sent both cars into a nearby vineyard. The truck rolled over while the Charger caught fire as a result of the collision.

Two parties in the Dodge and three people riding the truck were killed upon impact. Siegel was apparently a passenger in the Chevrolet while Avila appeared to be the driver at the time.
The names of the other deceased parties have not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. The accident occurred shortly after 11 a.m., just west of Highway 99.
The collision remains under investigation.
