2 Killed in Fontana Collision at Redwood and Slover Avenues
FONTANA, Calif. (August 16, 2021) – Blanca Espinoza, 47, of Fontana, is one of two people who died early Sunday morning in a car accident at Redwood and Slover Avenue in Fontana.
The deadly crash happened about 12:45 a.m. on August 15th, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
Blanca Espinoza was a passenger in a vehicle driven by the unidentified man who also died in the Fontana crash, authorities said.
According to the Fontana Herald News, the victims were riding in one of two vehicles that collided at the Fontana intersection.
Fontana Crash Investigation
Additionally, the vehicles involved were a gray Nissan Versa and a black GMC Sierra. Police report the Nissan failed to stop for the sign at the intersection. An oncoming westbound GMC traveling on Slover Avenue struck the Nissan.
The victims who died were travelling in the Nissan Versa. Also, paramedics responded and pronounced the both driver and Blanca Espinoza dead on scene just after 1 a.m. The name of the driver will be released after his relatives are notified.
Meanwhile, the driver of the GMC did not immediately report any injuries.
Furthermore, investigators with the Fontana Police Department continue to piece together the circumstances and will determine fault.
