Speeding Car Rolls Over, Hits Parked Vehicle
BLOOMINGTON, California (May 16, 2016) – Two teenage girls were hurt in a solo-car crash that killed that 19-year-old driver Johnny Lucas Avila on Linden Avenue early Sunday, according to The Daily Bulletin. (map)
The collision occurred just after 1:30 a.m. on Linden Avenue, just south of Gregory Street.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said Avila was driving a green 1995 Chevy Tahoe south on Linden at a high rate of speed when he lost control the car.
The Tahoe then rolled over, slamming into a parked vehicle.
CHP affirmed that the 19-year-old Bloomington man was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car. He die at the scene.
Meanwhile, the two 16-year-old girls were transported to a hospital with injuries described as minor.
Alcohol and drugs did not appear to have played a role in the incident which remains under investigation.
