The accident happened at around 5:35 a.m. near Highway 58 at Kramer Junction.
Preliminary report stated that a 30-year-old male motorist in a 2012 Ford F-150 was recklessly driving on the highway. He was crossing lanes on a solid yellow line.
The event led the Ford to collide against two Peterbilt trailers. The rearmost trailer broke apart and caused debris to enter the northbound lane, as mentioned in the article.
The debris caused further chaos on the highway. Three other vehicles—a 2013 Ford F470, a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder, a 2007 Toyota Corrola were left to collide against the trailers.
The mishap concluded with the 21-year-old Toyota driver and a 3-month-old Nissan passenger wounded from the wreck.
