State Route 9 Pedestrian Accident at Bear Creek Road
BOULDER CREEK, Calif. (August 10, 2018) — A pedestrian was hit by a car early Friday morning on Central Avenue (State Route 9), according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The collision took place about 2:26 a.m. The man who was struck “barely had a pulse” after being struck by the vehicle, the report said. An emergency helicopter was requested to take him to a hospital, but due to the weather it was declined. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of what turned out to be minor injuries.
The driver stopped and cooperated with police. Their vehicle was towed for evidence and the crash remains under investigation.
Pedestrian Accident Investigation
At this time, we do not know all the facts about this case. It’s unknown whether the pedestrian was crossing the road or was walking on the side of the narrow two-lane highway. At the time this collision took place, it would be quite dark on this roadway and difficult to see someone. However, under California law, motorists are required to yield the right-of-way to pedestrians at all times and watch out for their safety.
We extend our heartfelt prayers to the man who was injured.
In a case such as this one, there could also be more than one entity responsible for this collision including an employer if the driver was working at the time of the crash, an auto manufacturer or a government entity. A qualified attorney would conduct a full investigation into the circumstances and ensure all responsible parties are identified.
