VALLEJO (July 18, 2017)- According to the Times Herald Online, a collision took place Thursday, July 13th, involving a bicycle and a truck where a teen was seriously injured and his father hurt.
Vallejo Police was notified of the collision in the evening on Curtola Parkway just south of Georgia Street.

Guillermo Espinoza Vallejo Bike Accident
For unknown reasons, the truck driver struck the bike causing the young teen to get caught on the Chevy before being dragged for some time as he had not been wearing a helmet or any protective padding.
Espinoza remained in the critical care unit in ICU before sadly succumbing to his injuries Sunday stemming from the incident.
Meanwhile, the father was injured moderately and also hospitalized. He has not been identified by name either at this time.
Per the Times-Herald, the driver of the Chevy was uninjured and is being investigated into whether or not he was under the influence which has not been ruled out as the collision remains under investigation as of Tuesday morning.
Wrongful Death Lawyer
Police will investigate any accident involving a fatality or injury in an effort to determine liability, but this should not preclude a victim’s family from having their own independent California-licensed attorney investigate who is responsible for their loved one’s death. In this particular case, it appears as though the 53-year-old man driving the Chevy will likely be held fully responsible for the teen’s tragic passing and the father’s injuries. California law grants the family of the boy the right to pursue a wrongful death claim if they wish against the responsible motorist where they may seek recompense for medical expenses, funeral costs, lost future income and loss of love and companionship.
