Driver Hits Boys, 12 and 13, Riding Bikes in Nestor Area
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (Dec. 5, 2022) — A driver struck two boys riding bicycles on Saturn Boulevard in San Diego’s Nestor neighborhood leaving them suffering from major injuries.
The collision occurred about 6:20 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4th at 900 Saturn Boulevard, according to San Diego News 10.
A 37-year-old man in a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling southbound on Saturn Boulevard and the 12-year-old and 13-year-old boys were riding across the road from east to west, according to the San Diego Police Department. The motorist hit the two boys in the southbound lane and both boys lost consciousness.
Paramedics responded and performed CPR on the younger boy before transporting both to them to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Volkswagen stopped and is cooperating with authorities.
Investigators continue to work on liability for the bicycle crash on Saturn Boulevard.
