LOMPOC, Calif. (Oct. 9, 2023) — Bradley Blackwell, 47, of Lompoc, was critically injured in a pedestrian accident on Highway 246 on Saturday night just east of Lompoc.

The collision occurred at around 8 p.m. on Oct. 7th, near Sweeney Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A driver in a minivan struck the man as he was attempting to cross Highway 246, the CHP said. The man was crossing from the northbound side when a Toyota Sienna hit him in the roadway.

Bradley Blackwell was thrown over the guard rail and sustained major injuries.

Paramedics responded and a helicopter airlifted him to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.
