Brandon Ashby Santa Rosa Motorcycle Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 101

Motorcyclist Brandon Ashby, 29, Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run on Highway 101

SANTA ROSA (July 13, 2018) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after an alleged hit-and-run crash along Highway 101 early Friday, according to The Press Democrat.

The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Brandon Ashby, of Santa Rosa.

As per the article, California Highway Patrol said Ashby was riding a 1994 Honda motorcycle south on Highway 101 when for an unknown reason he was struck by a vehicle. The collision occurred shortly after 12 a.m. near Steele Lane.

The rider was found leaning against a guard rail following the crash. He was then transported Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries including what appeared to be a broken ankle, dislocated shoulder and road rash across his body.

Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. The suspect car was described as a red Honda Civic, apparently a 1996-2000 model.

The Honda reportedly has a missing left front black plastic inner fender well, its driver’s side horizontal door strip and possibly sustained other damage to the left front side.

Personal Injury Lawyer

Most traffic accidents which involve a motorist who flees the scene can be subjected to serious criminal charges, especially when a particular crash causes serious injuries to another person. Such circumstances are likely considered as “felony hit-and-run,” leaving the victim a legal right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit against the suspect.

Drivers who are involved in car collisions are obliged to stop and provide assistance to the injured individuals and to cooperate with the authorities. In this case, the motorist took off and left the motorcyclist wounded in the roadway.

Mr. Brandon Ashby has likely a right to pursue a claim seeking a compensation for all the hospital bills, future medical needs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
