Brandon Spharler, 37, Kills Pedestrian in Red Bluff DUI Crash on Luther Road
RED BLUFF, CA (September 16, 2021) – Authorities detained Brandon Spharler after a fatal DUI crash on Luther Road in Red Bluff.
The California Highway Patrol determined that the 37-year-old Red Bluff man was under the influence when the accident occurred on Wednesday.
The incident began when Brandon Lyle Lloyd Spharler was driving a Chevy Silverado west on Luther Road in Red Bluff. He then struck the two pedestrians near Airport Boulevard.

CHP said the collision took place on September 15 at around 10:15 a.m. The Red Bluff Daily News wrote that one victim, a 41-year-old Red Bluff man, died as a result of the collision.
The other pedestrian, 51-year-old Red Bluff resident Darrin Rasmussen, ended up hurt following the crash. Paramedics took him to the Mercy Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Meanwhile, CHP soon arrested and charged Brandon Spharler with DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
They booked him into the Tehama County Jail in lieu of a $150,000 bail. The Red Bluff pedestrian DUI crash is still under investigation.
