Braulio Pioquinto, 21, KIlled in North County Crash on El Camino Real
SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA (September 24, 2021) – A DUI crash killed Braulio Pioquinto on El Camino Real in the North County area of San Diego County.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 21-year-old Poway man as the victim of the fatal wreck which occurred on Tuesday.
The incident began when Braulio Pioquinto was riding as a passenger in a silver Dodge Journey headed south on El Camino Real in North County.
CHP said the Dodge then swerved to the right and slammed into two parked cars. The Journey crashed north of Cristianitos Road near the border with Orange County.
DUI Driver Hits Parked Cars
Braulio Pioquinto sustained severe injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics rushed him to Mission Hospital in Orange County where he died on Thursday.
Medical personnel took the 18-year-old woman Yucca Valley driving the Dodge for treatment of minor injuries. The accident took place on September 21 at about 3 p.m.
CHP determined that the driver was under the influence of drugs when the collision happened. The San Diego Union-Tribune and ABC 10 News wrote that officers arrested her on suspicion of DUI.
Records showed that the driver posted bail and was released from jail. The El Camino Real crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the CHP Oceanside office at (760) 643-3400.
