Fatal Motorcycle Crash on 57 Freeway
BREA, Calif. (Oct. 5, 2022) — A Brea motorcycle crash involving a semi-truck happened Wednesday morning on the southbound Orange (57) Freeway, just north of Lambert Road.
The multi-vehicle crash occurred about 6:50 a.m. on Oct. 5th, according to a California Highway Patrol 911 dispatch.
The caller told operators the motorcycle rider was down in the No. 4 lane and was not moving. The motorcycle was also in the same lane as the rider. Sadly, the motorcyclist died shortly after the crash. Metro Net Fire Authorities sent paramedics to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.
A driver in a big rig truck reportedly struck the motorcyclist due to unknown circumstances. Others vehicles involved included a white Kia with Nevada plates that was stopped in the No. 3 lane following the collision. A Toyota Tacoma pickup truck pulled to the right side, but was later towed from the scene, along with the Kia.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Brea motorcycle crash. They closed down the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes of the freeway and issued a SigAlert.
