Fiery Crash Involving Wrong-way Driver, 2 Trucks in Brea
BREA, Calif. (Dec. 31, 2019) — — A wrong-way driver collided with two big rigs early Tuesday morning on the northbound 57 Freeway in Brea.
The crash took place about 2:30 a.m. near the Imperial Highway off ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of a white sedan was allegedly driving southbound in the northbound lanes when it crashed one of the semi-trucks, according to its driver. .
A man who was in the car reportedly got out of the burning vehicle, but there was no information in the report about his condition. It’s unknown at this time if either of the involved truck drivers were hurt.
Police closed down six lanes and the carpool lane of the northbound Orange Freeway at 3:10 a.m.
Meanwhile, they later reopened the Nos. 4, 5 and 6 lanes of the freeway at 3:40 a.m.
