Fontana Fatal Car Accident at Citrus and Randall Avenue
FONTANA (July 24, 2016)- According to the San Bernardino Sun, a deadly collision was reported on Friday, July 21, at the intersection of Citrus Avenue and Randall Avenue.
Reports indicated that the crash involved two cars and occurred at roughly 8:44 p.m. between a Chrysler and a Toyota.
Per the article, the driver of the Toyota Corolla had been headed southbound on Citrus Avenue before being broadsided by the driver of the Chrysler who blew through a red light striking the drivers side of the vehicle.
The collision tragically left a passenger in the Toyota with grave injuries. The victim identified as Brenda Amador, 18, of Fontana, was rushed to Kaiser located in Fontana where she sadly was later pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota was badly injured and hospitalized but has not been identified at this time.
There were no details provided regarding the condition of the Chrysler driver and whether or not any passengers were present.
The Fontana Police Department will handle the investigation.
Based on the preliminary information provided, it is apparent that the driver of the Chrysler will ultimately be held responsible for causing the collision and ultimately the tragic passing of the young teen. There are still some questions that need to be answered. Was the driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs? Did excessive speed or distracted driving play a role? Was the driver negligent in any other way? We trust officials are looking into these and other factors in order to determine precisely what occurred here and why.
In such cases where negligence or wrongdoing may have been a factor, families of deceased and any injured victims will have the right to file a wrongful death or personal injury lawsuit against the at-fault parties seeking compensation for damages including medical expenses, funeral costs, lost future income and loss of love and companionship.
