Brenda Raymond and Frederick Lein Injured in Shandon Crash
SHANDON, San Luis Obispo County (August 22, 2017) – Two people were injured in a traffic collision on Highway 41 last week, August 16, according to Paso Robles Daily News.
The accident took place around 8:15 a.m. three miles north of Highway 46.
As per the article, a truck and trailer had a mechanical failure and dumped several small rocks on the highway. The aggregate reportedly covered the southbound lane and some parts of the northbound lane.

Authorities said 60-year-old Arroyo Grande resident Brenda Kay Raymond was going south at the time when her vehicle began to swerve as she travelled through the loose gravel. Raymond stepped on the brakes but ultimately lost control of her car which spun toward the northbound side of the highway.
At the same, time 55-year-old Cayucos resident Frederick Beyer Lein was headed north approaching Raymond. Lein veered to the left into the southbound lane in an attempt to avoid the collision but struck Raymond’s vehicle.
Raymond went off the east side of Highway 41 and plunged down an embankment approximately 60 feet.
According to the report, Both Raymond and Lein sustained minor injuries following the wreck. The investigation is ongoing.
