Coroner IDs Biker Killed in Hit-And-Run Crash With SUV in Bellflower
BELLFLOWER, Calif. (July 5, 2022) – Brett Mitchell, 32, died Saturday night in a motorcycle crash involving a hit-and-run driver in an SUV on Woodruff Avenue in Bellflower.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at 8:49 p.m. Saturday on Woodruff Avenue at Alondra Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lakewood station.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office identified the motorcyclist on its website.
Deadly Crash on Woodruff Avenue in Bellflower
Mitchell was reportedly traveling northbound on Woodruff Avenue. Meanwhile, a southbound SUV apparently drifted over the double line and crashed into his bike.
Next, the driver in the SUV continued driving northbound on Woodruff Avenue without stopping to help the motorcyclist. Sadly, Brett Mitchell suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Traffic investigators are reviewing security video in an attempt to locate the suspect and the hit-and-run vehicle, police said.
Finally, witnesses may call the sheriff’s Lakewood station at 562-623-3500.
