Brian Evans-Kitchen, 34, ID’d as Suspect in Sacramento DUI Hit-and-Run Crash
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 9, 2021) – Authorities detained Brian Evans-Kitchen after a DUI hit-and-run crash in Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 34-year-old Sacramento man as the suspect in the collision which occurred on Thursday night.
The incident happened on July 8 when Brian Evans-Kitchen crashed his gold Lexus into a Ford van and a Toyota Camry in Sacramento.
He then hit a male pedestrian at the Marconi Avenue exit off the eastbound Interstate 80. The Sacramento Bee and FOX 40 News wrote that the accident took place at around 10:35 p.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene. They found the 62-year-old Sacramento man left lying on the ground as a result of the crash.
Pedestrian Hit by Car at Marconi Exit
Medical personnel took him to a hospital for treatment of a broken back and other serious injuries. Officials did not release his name and condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that Brian Evans-Kitchen did not stop to render aid to the pedestrian. He fled the area with his 3-year-old son.
CHP located him and determined that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time. They soon arrested Brian Evans-Kitchen on felony DUI, felony hit-and-run and misdemeanor child endangerment.
Records showed that he posted bail and has been released. The Sacramento DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
