SACRAMENTO, Calif. (November 18, 2021) – Brian Gabriel Feliciano, 25, of Rancho Cordova, died Tuesday in a Natomas motorcycle crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway.
The deadly collision happened just before 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 16th, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
The young man was riding his bike northbound on the Interstate 5, just south of Arena Boulevard, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
A vehicle traveling behind Brian Feliciano struck his motorcycle from behind, causing the rider to fall off the bike.
The motorcyclist fell in the No. 2 lane of the freeway. Meanwhile, an oncoming big rig truck struck him and he died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the vehicle that initially struck the motorcyclist veered off the roadway and crashed into an embankment. The driver suffered moderate injuries in the collision.
Paramedics responded and transported the driver to a hospital.
Additionally, the truck driver also stopped and cooperated with authorities and investigators.
Police closed down the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 to conduct a traffic investigation. Preliminary results indicate that alcohol and/or drugs are not considered to be factors in the crash.
Finally, liability for the deadly crash remains under investigation. Our thoughts and prayers extend to the family of Brian Feliciano as they cope with this tragedy.
