DUI Driver Brian Kane, 49, Runs Red Light in Petaluma Crash
PETALUMA, CA (May 8, 2021) – Authorities arrested Brian Kane after a DUI crash at Bodega Avenue and Webster Street in Petaluma.
Police determined that the 49-year-old Petaluma man was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck occurred on Wednesday night.
The incident happened on May 5 when Brian Kane was driving a 2016 white Chevrolet pickup in Petaluma. At the same time, a black 2019 Hyundai was going west in the area.
He ran a red light and then slammed into the Hyundai at the intersection of Bodega Avenue and North Webster Street. The black car spun out of control and drove up on the sidewalk.
Petaluma police said Brian Kane ended up hitting a traffic signal pole. According to the article published by the Argus Courier, the accident took place at about 8:53 p.m.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found the female motorist in the Hyundai who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took her to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The name of the wounded victim and her condition at this time were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, police added that Kane reversed in an attempt to speed off with a damaged front end and only three tires. The bottom of his truck scraped the road in the process.
He stopped after plowing into a tree and partially uprooting it. Authorities soon arrested and charged him with felony DUI and causing injury.
The suspect was hospitalized with minor wounds and was later booked at the Sonoma County Jail. The Petaluma DUI crash is still under investigation.
