Brian Petit Imprisoned For Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash Near Glenheather Drive
Highland, CA (September 16, 2021) – On September 13, Monday, Brian Petit pleaded guilty to the deadly pedestrian accident that occurred on Church Street last year.
The Sun published an article published online indicating Brian Petit was driving in the streets of Highland in June 2020. When the man approached the area of Church Street and Glenheather Drive, he accidentally struck a female juvenile.
Officials confirmed Brian Petit failed to pull over following the horrible crash. The man then sped off and fled the scene at an unspecified direction.
Girl, 11, Killed in Highland Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident
Per local news source, the 11-year-old girl sadly died as a result of the incident. Additional details on the deceased remained undisclosed due to her age.
Authorities said they successfully identified and located Brian Petit about one week after the unfortunate incident. Subsequently, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies arrested the suspect.
On Monday, the 40-year-old man was immediately sentenced to two years in state prison at the California Institute for Men in Chino.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
