Briauna Ramirez, 18, Killed in Lynwood DUI Wrong-Way Crash on 105 Freeway
LYNWOOD, CA (October 24, 2020) – Briauna Ramirez ended up killed after a DUI wrong-way crash along the 105 Freeway in Lynwood on Saturday.
The incident began when a 1999 Honda was traveling east in the westbound No. 1 lane of the 105 Freeway. The car then slammed head-on into a 2012 Honda.
The California Highway Patrol said the female front-seat passenger of the 2012 Honda died at the scene. The coroner’s office identified her as Briauna Ramirez, 18.

The other four occupants of the 2012 Honda suffered major injuries upon impact. Paramedics rushed two of them, a 18-year-old Coachella resident and a 29-year-old Coachella woman, to St. Francis Medical Center.
Medical personnel also took the other two victims, a 28-year-old La Quinta woman and a 28-year-old Thousand Palms woman, to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Downey.
A third vehicle became involved in the collision. Meanwhile, officials transported the 24-year-old West Covina man driving the 1999 Honda with moderate injuries.
CHP determined he was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck took place. Authorities arrested the wrong-way motorist on suspicion of DUI.
However, officers did not release the names of all the wounded victims and the suspect. The fatal incident remains under investigation.
