Woman Killed Falling Out of Top Dog Limo Bus
NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (Sept. 8, 2021) — Brigette Duenas, 25, of San Marcos, died August 31, three days after she fell out of an emergency exit of a party bus limousine as the vehicle traveled on the Interstate 5 Freeway.
The deadly incident happened about 8:10 p.m. on August 28th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The woman was traveling with a group of young adults aboard the Top Dog Limo Bus. She reportedly got up to use the restroom and accidentally opened the rear emergency door of the 2018 Mercedes Freightliner Limousine. That’s when she fell out into northbound traffic lanes near 18th Street. The other passengers told the driver to stop. The woman was not hit by any vehicles in the roadway.
Woman Hurt in Fall onto Freeway
Some Good Samaritans helped the injured woman in the roadway until paramedics and police arrived. She was transported to UCSD Medical Center for further treatment of life-threatening injuries. Three days later, Brigette Duenas died at the hospital about 8:35 p.m. on August 31, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
Meanwhile, the incident took place as the bus driver was on route to pick up other members of the party.
Police conducted a field sobriety test on the limo bus driver, but no drugs or alcohol were detected.
The CHP is investigating the incident.
