Woman Killed in Crash Found Next Day by Police
PASO ROBLES, Calif. (April 30, 2020) — Brittany Muldrow, 25, of Tulare, died in a solo-vehicle crash on Highway 46, but emergency responders didn’t find her body until the following day.
The crash took place about 7:20 p.m. on April 25th, just west of Gruenhagen Flats Road. Brittany Muldrow was driving a black Volvo 850 sedan with 26-year-old Najee Mims of Hanford as her passenger. Police believe the Volvo was traveling at high speed when it went off the side of the highway and crashed. Paramedics and CHP officers responded to the scene where they only found Mims and didn’t think there were any other occupants of the vehicle, according to KSBY News. She was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. However, due to uneven terrain, tall grass and thick brush, they never saw Brittany Muldrow who was either dead or dying in a ditch.
Her family is now seeking to find out whether or not her daughter was alive after the crash.
LaSonya Muldrow, Brittany’s mother, notified the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office that her daughter must still be out at the crash scene because she didn’t hear from her. Police told her that there was only one woman in the car and that was Mims. The next day, roughly 24 hours after the crash, police returned to the scene and located Brittany’s body in a ditch about 5:15 p.m.
Now LaSonya Muldro wants answers from police about why they didn’t find her initially. Police told La Sonya Muldro they used Forward-Looking Infrared (FLIR) camera to search the scene initially, but never found Brittany.
Brittany Muldrow leaves behind three daughters and her family has created a GoFundMe page to help them.
The CHP Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) was at the crash scene investigating the situation.
