SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — (August 15, 2023) – Brittany Anne Parra, 28, of Pomona, died in a multi-vehicle crash early Tuesday on the Interstate 10 Freeway, east of Cypress Avenue.
The collision occurred around 3:04 a.m. on August 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials responded to the westbound lanes of the I-10 Freeway and located as many as five motorists who were involved in the collision.
Police reported two of the vehicles involved were a silver 2023 Toyota RAV 4 SUV and a white 2007 BMW 328 sedan. The initial collision involved two of the vehicles that collided and overturned in the HOV lane. A witness who was at a construction site told 911 operators the vehicles were blacked out and difficult to see. Another caller told dispatch operators that their white Mercedes Benz sideswiped the crashed vehicles. Others called to report they almost hit the blacked out vehicles. A total of five vehicles were damaged and or involved in the collision.
Paramedics responded to help those hurt in the crash, but sadly Brittany Parra suffered major injuries and later died on scene at 3:24 a.m., according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
Meanwhile, tow trucks removed five damaged vehicles from the freeway for evidence. Police also impounded the RAV4 and the BMW 328.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault.
