Bruce Kirk, 75, Seriously Injured in Highway 20 Crash Near Wild Turkey Lane
NEVADA COUNTY/YUBA COUNTY, CA (August 26, 2021) – Bruce Kirk was badly injured after a DUI crash near Highway 20 and Wild Turkey Lane.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 75-year-old Smartsville man as the victim of the wreck which occurred on Wednesday.
The incident began when Bruce Kirk was driving a car west on Highway Highway 20 near Wild Turkey Lane. At the same time, a woman was going east.
CHP said the female driver then crossed the double yellow lanes into the path of the elderly motorist. In the process, the two vehicles collided.
Collision Near Nevada and Yuba County Line
KNCO News wrote that they crashed near the Nevada County and the Yuba County line. The accident took place on August 25 shortly after 6 p.m.
Bruce Kirk sustained moderate injuries as a result of the Highway 20 crash. Paramedics arrived at the scene and took him to a hospital for treatment.
The woman and her passenger, a child, obtained major injuries due to the impact. Medical personnel rushed them for treatment.
Meanwhile, CHP determined that the woman was under the influence when she struck the other car. They soon arrested her for felony DUI.
Officers forced a stretch of Highway 20 near Wild Turkey Lane for over two hours following the wreck. The DUI collision is still under investigation.
