2 Men Killed, Teen Injured in Riego Road Crash
SUTTER COUNTY, Calif. (Dec. 18, 2018) —Brycen Benedict, 18, of Oroville, was the only survivor of a crash that killed a Erica Marie Bair, 47, and Steven Douglas Buehler, 53, Monday afternoon on Highway 99.
The collision took place about 4:23 p.m. on Dec. 17. Bair, who is from Yuba City, was driving a Hyundai Tuscon and traveling eastbound on Riego Road when she veered onto the right shoulder before drifting back into oncoming vehicles on the westbound side of Highway 99. The Hyundai then crashed into a Ford F350 driven by Benedict and collided with the Toyota Corolla driven by Buehler.

Benedict was taken by ambulance to Rideout Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, Buehler and Bair both died at the scene.
Police are heading up an investigation into the cause of this crash. It appears that based on the facts we know so far that the driver in the Hyundai was responsible.
