2 Killed in Buellton Head-On Crash on Highway 246 Sunday
BUELLTON (September 22, 2019) – Two drivers were killed after a traffic collision along Highway 246 early Sunday.
California Highway Patrol said the fatal accident involving two vehicles took place shortly after 3:30 a.m., west of Domingos Road.
According to reports by Noozhawk and KSBY News, the incident began when a 39-year-old Solvang man was driving a Honda west on Highway 246.
The Honda then allegedly crossed over the center line and collided head-on with an eastbound Toyota driven by a 79-year-old Lompoc woman. One car went off the roadway upon impact.

Santa Barbara County Fire Department along with the paramedics responded to the site and extricated both parties from being pinned in the wreckage.
The two motorists were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, Highway 246 was forced to shut down in both directions for about four hours following the wreck. CHP believed that alcohol and/or drugs played a role in the incident which remains under investigation.
