2-Vehicle Crash on State Route 91
BUENA PARK, Calif. (June 30, 2023) — A fatal Buena Park crash happened Friday morning on the Riverside 91 Freeway at the Beach Boulevard off ramp.
The two-vehicle collision occurred in the westbound lanes around 4:33 a.m. on June 30th, according to the California Highway Patrol report.
Two vehicles were involved in a collision due to unknown circumstances, the report said. A white vehicle caught on fire and bystanders were attempting to pull a man out of the vehicle. Paramedics responded, but sadly one person died at the scene.
Meanwhile, a green Chevrolet Cruz became disabled in the No. 1 lane after hitting debris from the collision. Other motorists were swerving to avoid hitting it. The third vehicle was not involved in the crash, but became undrivable.
Authorities requested the Orange County Sheriff Coroner respond to the scene due to one fatality.
Police issued a SigAlert for the No. 5 lane and the Beach Boulevard off ramp was closed down at 5:42 a.m., the report said.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the Buena Park crash on the 91 Freeway.
