Suspected DUI 3-Vehicle Crash Interstate 5 Freeway
BUENA PARK, Calif. (Jan. 9, 2019) – A suspected DUI driver was arrested early Wednesday morning following a fiery 3-vehicle crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at 12:05 a.m., just south of Beach Boulevard. A Ford Crown Victoria sedan was completely engulfed in flames following the collision and Good Samaritans responded and pulled the driver out of the car.
Paramedics and firefighters arrived afterwards and treated the injured driver for non-life threatening injuries.
Police investigating the crash believe the female driver of the Ford Crown Victoria was speeding prior to reportedly rear-ending another vehicle. The woman driver was given a field sobriety test and arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. She was booked into Orange County Jail.
It’s unknown at this time whether or not anyone else was hurt in the crash.
