Man, 77, Riding Bicycle Hospitalized in Critical Condition
BURBANK, Calif. (Jan. 28, 2024) — A 77-year-old man riding a bicycle was critically injured in a hit-and-run car accident Tuesday morning at Clybourn Avenue and Oxnard Street in Burbank.
The collision occurred at around 7:20 a.m. on Jan. 16th, according to the Burbank Police Department and CBS News.
Police officers and paramedics responded to the scene and located the elderly man with major, life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a hospital for further treatment.
Authorities investigating the collision determined the rider was traveling southbound on a sidewalk on the east side of Clybourn Avenue. He was riding towards Oxnard Street when he entered the intersection. That’s when an eastbound black sedan struck him and its driver failed to stop.
