Multi-Vehicle Crash Closes 5 Freeway in Burbank
BURBANK, Calif. (May 9, 2022) – A Burbank crash on the Interstate 5 Freeway happened Sunday night, just north of Alameda Avenue.
The collision occurred about 10:22 p.m. on May 8th and led to a one-hour closure of the I-5 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The multiple-vehicle crash left several people with various undisclosed injuries, the CHP said.
Six vehicles collided due to unknown reasons and they were blocking multiple traffic lanes, the CHP said.
Paramedics responded to the scene and located as many as nine people with injuries. They were transported by ambulances to hospitals for further treatment, but it’s unknown if any of the injuries were life-threatening.
Meanwhile, authorities are piecing together what led to the Burbank crash on the 5 Freeway and will determine fault for the collision.
Finally, the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
