BURNEY, California (April 13, 2016) — Three people were injured when a big rig truck allegedly veered into another lane and crashed head-on into a car Wednesday morning on the State Route Highway 299 at Black Ranch Road, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The collision took place about 10:56 a.m. this morning and left lots of debris in the roadway, police said. The truck reportedly struck a gold Subaru causing the truck’s front right tire to be ripped off and the other vehicle was thrown off the roadway. The driver of the Subaru suffered major injuries and two passengers in the car had minor injuries. A helicopter landed nearby and transported all three people to a Redding-area hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating the cause of the Shasta County crash and will file a report with their decision on liability.
