BURNEY, California (April 1, 2016) – A pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision on Friday evening in the area of Highway 299 and Shasta Street, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch. (map)
CHP first logged the incident when a pedestrian was seen lying in the middle of the roadway after being struck by a vehicle at 6:30 p.m.
As per the dispatch, paramedics responded to the scene and requested for an air ambulance to transport the victim to Mercy Medical Center with major injuries.
The name and condition of the patient remained unknown at this time.
Meanwhile, the car involved, a white Dodge Durango, remained at the site.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
